Building Tomorrows' Leaders

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.

WHERE YOU CAN FIND US
Serra Catholic School

Our pack is chartered through Serra Catholic School located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.  Rooted in Faith and Vision, the community of Serra Catholic School welcomes children from the parishes of St. Kilian, San Francisco Solano, Santiago de Compostela, and Holy Trinity.

The scouts are organized into Dens (grouped by grades).  They meet regularly to work on specific activities to earn achievements throughout the year. We also have regular Pack Meetings where all the dens get together to recognize everyone's accomplishments.

We have special events scheduled throughout the year-- check out our calendar for dates and times.

You can also contact us for more information about our Pack and the Cub Scouts.

November Pack Meeting
Wed Nov 16

Flag Ceremony Dens 5 and 15

Award Recognitions Each den will need to purchase their own awards at the scout store for this meeting. We are finalizing the packmaster rollout, which will allow us to centralize the ordering process.

Activity for the boys After many good suggestions, we settled on a trivia game where each den will be given a set of three questions to answer. The questions will be age-appropriate. They will be given to them in an envelope, and the sheet of paper will have room to write the answer.

One of the aims of Cub Scouting is to provide an environment where the boys are not competing against one another (winners and losers), but rather competing to achieve objectives that advance the group (all winners). So rather than having dens compete against one another, the boys will earn one marble (or ball – TBD) for each right answer.

The goal will be for the Pack to collectively answer enough questions correctly to fill a jar to the top with the marbles. If the boys do it, they will earn their pinewood cars. (If by chance we do not do it, we can do another game at the next meeting to earn more marbles).
